Common questions

Frequently asked.

Have something else on your mind? Get in touch.

Does veterinary acupuncture hurt?

In almost all cases, no. The needles are extremely fine and most pets relax once treatment starts. Many fall asleep partway through their session. Sensitive points may produce a brief reaction, but discomfort is rare.

Do you offer surgery or sedation?

No. Dr Jacqui does not do surgery or sedations.

Can natural therapies be used alongside conventional medication?

Yes. Acupuncture, Bowen therapy and herbal medicine are designed to work alongside conventional veterinary care. We always review current medications before starting any new treatment to ensure everything works safely together.

How many sessions will my pet need?

It depends on the condition. Acute issues sometimes settle in one to three sessions; chronic conditions like arthritis usually benefit from a short course followed by ongoing maintenance. We discuss expected timelines and review progress together.
